Overview

Stepping into Veggie Lee Restaurant at 1169 W A St, Hayward, CA 94541, United States, feels like discovering a hidden gem tucked in the heart of the city. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly cooked vegetables and savory sauces filled the air, setting the tone for an inviting dining experience. This spot has quickly become my go-to for casual dinners, thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and diverse menu options that cater to both longtime vegetarians and those simply looking to enjoy wholesome meals.

One of the highlights of Veggie Lee Restaurant is its menu, which balances creativity with comfort. On my first visit, I tried the stir-fried tofu with a tangy sesame sauce, and the flavors were perfectly layered-crispy on the outside yet tender inside, with a subtle kick that didn’t overpower the dish. For a more indulgent option, the vegetable dumplings were a revelation, showcasing a delicate combination of mushrooms, cabbage, and seasonings wrapped in a thin, perfectly steamed dough. Every dish is clearly crafted with care, reflecting the expertise of the chefs who understand how to bring out natural flavors without relying on heavy oils or artificial additives.

The restaurant’s layout is simple yet cozy, with warm lighting that encourages a relaxed dining experience. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a meal, catching up with friends or enjoying some quiet time alone. On weekends, the location tends to fill up quickly, and from talking to the staff, it’s clear that loyal customers often come back for the consistent quality and friendly service. They even offer quick takeout options, which I’ve found perfect for busy weekdays when I still crave a freshly prepared, plant-based meal.

What sets Veggie Lee Restaurant apart is the attention to detail in its sourcing and preparation. They emphasize locally sourced ingredients, which not only supports nearby farms but also guarantees freshness in every bite. Research has shown that meals made from locally sourced produce retain higher nutrient levels, which aligns perfectly with the restaurant’s mission to offer healthy and flavorful options. Their menu also includes gluten-free and low-sodium dishes, accommodating dietary preferences without compromising on taste-a thoughtful touch that highlights their understanding of customer needs.

Over multiple visits, I’ve noticed how Veggie Lee Restaurant maintains consistency. Whether ordering a classic stir-fry, a hearty noodle bowl, or a seasonal special, each dish arrives piping hot and beautifully presented. This reliability is a key reason why it has garnered glowing reviews across platforms. Food critics and local bloggers often praise its inventive approach to vegetarian cuisine, and customer feedback consistently mentions both the quality of food and the welcoming environment.

Full vegan restaurant, however they did not have the dishes we wanted to eat. The flavors were bland, we had to add soy sauce to make it more tasty. Clean place, service was fast nice. Plenty of parking.

I used to eat a lot from here when I lived in Hayward. Visited again today after a long time, and the food was still as I remembered it. Their taste and quality have been maintained over time. It is one of the best vegan foods and definitely the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. Their plant based meat substitutes taste very fresh, and food is flavorful. Highly recommended.

Veggie Lee’s was awesome! It’s cool as a vegetarian to be able to get anything on the menu. Ask your server what she enjoys and get that! Also whoever wrote the one star review is objectively wrong, that kitchen is clean and makes delicious food.

Who knew food with no garlic or onions would be so delicious. This is a must travel to location. 1. Salt and Pepper mushrooms 2. Salt and Pepper pumpkin 3. Mixed vegetables and pan fried noodles. Not to be missed hot oil...homemade. We are looking forward to our next visit to enjoy what our eyes drank in from other tables like Sichuan beef broccoli. Although we had two deep fried dishes both had distinct flavor profiles. Soda was $4.50 with tax being 10%.

Food was pretty good! Service is great. The young lady who took our order was very helpful, sweet, and patient. They worked with us in removing and adding ingredients from certain dishes. Flavor was if they would just add garlic to their dishes, it would enhance the flavor a lot!…but besides that, food here is definitely worth trying
